Me and Mandisa
October 17, 2007 - Comments (3)Good times in Greenville. Her album is blowing up. It was an honor to write some tunes for it. And this just in: We’re doing a song for the Veggietales movie that is coming out later this year. The movie is called “The Pirates Who Don’t do Anything,” and the song is called “The Right Thing.” I just finished writing it, and Mandisa is recording it later in October. So, that’s all I know about that.
Now you have the inside scoop-mw

Hi, Matthew I saw you in concert at Celebrate Freedom in Atlanta 2007 for the first time. My friends and I have listened to your music for the past few years. I especially love Only Grace and Next thing you know, I know your newest song is going to be a great blessing as well! The youth from my church enjoyed the Atlanta concert so much, we had to come hear you in Greenville, SC as well and it was super! Praise God for your testimony, I can relate to you to some degree. I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer about 4 years ago while I was in my early 30′s. I have been in music ministry for many years with my husband, he being a pastor. I was getting ready to cut my first CD and I felt like God was using me at that time as well. When all of the sudden I had to have surgery to remove the tumor. Through this experience my vocal chords were damaged due to the delicate surgery. I couldn’t sing or talk for a couple of months as well, that is until God stepped on the scene. I would have to clap my hands to get the kids attention etc. I finally went to a church meeting and cried out to God, I said “Oh, God please help me, I don’t understand, and it was then and there God healed me.” After not being able to communicate freely I felt numb! I began to talk above a faint whisper, and by the next day I could hum again, and you know how that feels, you are so helpless feeling. Three weeks later I sang at a friend’s wedding. My mom was there and said ,”Oh, I thought that was a cd, I didn’t know you could sing again!” Well, thanks be to God I can, and you can! You are a blessing and your testimony just brought it on home! God works out all things out for our good! I’m on your street team and look forward to promoting your concerts! May God continue to use you in a mighty way!
