• Radio Promo Trip- Houston, TX

Last week, I attempted to set a world record (along with Grant Hubbard from EMI) for consecutive meals at a Mexican restaruant. The reason for this challenge? We spent a couple days in Texas, visiting radio stations and yes, eating chips and guacamole. One of my favorite places to eat in Texas is Pappasito’s. So good.

But due to a lost guitar in Dallas, we arrived in town too late for dinner at Sito’s, and were only able to eat their famous fajitas twice in two days. If at first you don’t succeed. Travel to Texas again.

Anyway, one of the stops was to visit KSBJ in Houston. While there, I co-hosted the afternoon drive show with Liz, and we had a blast! This listener called in and wanted me to write a song with the hook, “All You Need is God, And a good old dog!” The funny thing is, her name was Cat! It was a tough assignment, but I wrote the song, and we sang it on air. I’m sure it was a highlight for the station…(sarcasm detected?)

Thanks to Liz for letting me crash her show! Good times-mw

Thought I’d move this post here since this is the trip I was talking about! God Bless!
      Hi Matthew,
I heard your radio interview on KSBJ in Houston yesterday, and I wanted to tell you that I loved the song you came up with for Houston! My 10 year old son and I sang it all the way home. (All you need is God, and a good ole dog..) Thanks! Also, your story of silence really touched me. I am a Christian songwriter, and I wrote a song called “In Your Silence” that I think you will really love. It deals with the times in our lives that God is silent to us. The song talks about how we build our faith in His silence. I would love for you to hear this song! You can find it at my website, http://www.faithrefined.net. Please don’t think this is a solicitation or anything like that, I would just like to bless you like you blessed my son and I yesterday. Thank you so much for your music!!
      In Christ,
