• Shark!!!

    This is Matthew West reporting to you live from Universal Studios in California. I am at the scene of a near tragedy. A great white shark, predominantly known to be a water dwelling mammal has surfaced on to dry land and attempted an attack on, well, me. I was minding my own business. Getting ready for my show at the beautiful Universal Ampitheatre, when suddenly out of nowhere I was viciously lunged at by this fierce fish.

    Fortunately, I was blessed with cat like reflexes, and the quickness of a cheetah. So, I was able to escape the “jaws” of death and actually pause for a picture with the shark before he took another bite at me. Turns out, he was a fan of my music :)

    So, I signed his dorsal fin, said goodbye, and made my getaway just in time to hit the stage for over 5 thousand people tonight in LA. What an amazing night. The crowd was incredible. I haven’t played for crowds like this, not with just my acoustic. It’s a bit scary. But the crowd makes me feel welcome.

    Another close call with a shark, and another good show. Tour off to a good start. -mw

      Sorry — not to be smart-alec-y.. but sharks are fish. Whales are mammals. ;) Just thought I’d share that little helpful bit of info! I so love your music and blog though! :) And that new valentine song is amazing!
