• Host With The Most?

So, lately I’ve been doing different things. First, I was asked by some television folks if I would help host the backstage telecast at the Dove Awards. I thought, ‘hmm, not really my cup of tea, but it sounds fun, and maybe there will be free food, so why not?’ Turned out, there was free food, but it was mostly deli trays. But, the actual hosting was really fun.
Then, I got a call from the Gospel Music Channel asking me to host their show “Gospel Dream,” a talent competition that will air in June/July. I thought to myself, ‘hmm, the last hosting gig only had deli trays, but it was still free food.’ So, I let my stomach do the negotiating, and accepted the invitation to host yet again.

This time, the food was way more than deli trays… that was good. But even more than that, I once again enjoyed hosting this show! It was a blast. The contestants were awesome, the judges were great. I was working with people like Martha Munizzi, J. Moss, and Big Jim Wright, all big time folks in their respective genres.

And I really think the Gospel Music Channel is doing some great things. It is one of the only outlets for Christian and Gospel music to be found on television. The show I hosted will air in June. Check it out. And don’t laugh at me trying to do my best “Seacrest.” My friends called me “SeaWEST…”

Hey Matthew. I found this on Brody Harper’s blog and I have decided to start reading. You don’t remember who I am, but I met you once in a Family Christian Bookstore in Miami, FL summer of 2005, I believe, when I was 12 years old.
I was the only one who knew all the ‘new songs’ [well they were new at the time, when you first released History] and was singing along. I was the one you called up to show and talk about the new CD with the other people. I was the first one in line to get my CD signed and I took a picture with you and my little sister. Then I accidentally took your marker. Sorry about that ;]

      Hello,
Is it possible to get permission to use your song Safe and Sound on a video I have made to put on Godtube? The video contains pictures of my Granddaughter and our family. I could send it to you to check out if you’d prefer.
      thanks
      Graham

      Matthew,
I was one of the many that saw you at Busch Gardens with Third Day and Revieve and you and all of the guys were just spectacular. I don’t know if you read this or not, but I wanted to share with you that our associate pastor and music minister (Paul Tucker) was at the Busch concert with us as well. Well I wanted to share with you that Paul passed away suddenly from an unknown condition at the age of 45, leaving behind a wife Beth and two boys (Kevin 7th and Brian 11th grade). This tragedy has really struck a blow to our church as you could imagine, but the impact on his family and those that loved him will obviously be felt for quite a while. Paul ate, slept and breathed music and he, in addition to being an incredible person and one of the most devoted Christians you will ever meet, was an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with.
If you get a chance, please feel free to visit http://cre8ed.net/ which is a site that was set up in his honor and which provides access to much of the music that he has written and sang over the years. His two sons are also heavily involved with music and are following right along in the father’s foot steps.
Paul could not stop talking about the experience and pleasure it was to hear you along with Third Day and Revive at Busch Gardens and he shared with our church (of which there were quite a few members in attendance) how amazing it was to see the place packed and overflowing with people and to truly send a message to the world that Christianity is still very much alive and well.
I know you have an extremely busy schedule and, but I wanted to see if you could send a note of encouragement to Paul’s wife and boys? I know how much time and effort they, and Paul, put into their music and talents and they follow, love and truly admire yours and Third Day’s work. I know it would be such an uplifting experience for them to know that you were thinking of them in their current time of grief.
Please feel free to email any of your thoughts and encouragements to me at josephtrose@yahoo.com and I will surely pass them along or you may leave notes of encouragement on the website mentioned above. I tried sending a similar request to the members of Third Day and am not sure if it got through. If you have any contact with them could you pass my note along to them as well and surely express my appreciation for their time and consideration as well.
I cannot express in words how much I appreciate your time and have had the most amazing experience seeing you in concert in Myrtle Beach and at Busch Gardens. Thank you again and keep doing what you are doing. You are truly touching the hearts and lives of so many people througout the world with your remarkable talents.
      Very respectfully,
      Joe Rose

      Hey Matthew,
Congratulations on making it so far in your career. I love listening to your music. I’m commenting because I wanted to be able to get ahold of you some how. I would be absolutely thrilled if you would read a few articles on my blog and either comment or e-mail me. The song “next thing you know” reminds me of myself. I thought you would find my forgiveness articles interesting. If you don’t have time to, I understand.
      Good luck at J-fest.
      Thanks,
      Matthew M.
Hope to hear from you soon.

I am currently going through almost the exact thing you did with your voice and I personally know no other Christians who have been through this. I am a worship leader at church and a music teacher and have not “sang” since February. I do my therapy exercises if that counts… I too went through my dry erase board stages. :) I did not have to have surgery, praise the Lord, but the process is SOOO slow. I don’t know what God is doing. Any comments would be helpful. I KNOW you know what it’s like!
