I am on a plane ride home from Seattle early this
morning.  I wasn’t on the west
coast quite long enough to adjust to the time change, but I am sure to discover
once I return home that it was long enough to really mess me up!

The sun is alive and well outside my window.  Didn’t see it much in Washington, but a
little rain is always good for a songwriter, and good for reflection.  And I’m sure I will reflect on this
tour for quite some time.  It’s
kind of hard to process the whole thing right now.  The concept of a tour is quite strange when I think about
it.  A group of people ride on a
bus across the country for two months.
    So bizarre, and so amazing.

First off, I couldn’t have had a better crew with me on the
road this fall.  Each person in
    each position was absolutely amazing!
I am so thankful for a gifted band and hard working crew.  I stepped on stage every night,
confident that the show was going to go well because everyone was so great at
    what they do.

When I think about the fact that we just completed a 27 city
tour across a country that is experiencing some of the most difficult and
uncertain economic times, I am even more amazed that it all happened.  God was so faithful day in and day
    out.

I owe thanks to all the people in every city who put down
their hard earned money for a ticket to my show, and I hope you all felt it was
worth it!  Some nights, we wondered
what was going to happen, but you came to the shows, and I am grateful for so
many supporters, and the greatest fans ever!

Thanks to my booking agency and management for all of the
hard work setting this tour up, and allowing me the opportunity to do what I
    do.

Finally, I am thankful for my family, who has probably had
it the hardest this fall.  This
tour has taken me far from home for far too long.  Even as I write this, I’ve got that sinking feeling in my
stomach as I think of how many days I have missed waking up and seeing my
little girl’s smile.  But I will
    see that smile tonight…

So, I guess this blog turned into a “thank you” note.  So be it.  I suppose every day of my life should be a “thank you”
note.  Thank you, God for loving
me, and for guiding my life.  You
truly are my faithful friend, the one who will not let me go.

      Hey Matthew!
I went to the something to say tour in Merced, Ca and it was amazing! The message you gave during the show was very meaningful and meant a lot to me, especially the message during the song “Stop the World.” I don’t know how many times I have stopped what I have been doing and really listened to the words of that song to remind me that God is in control and we need to spend time with him every day. Congrats to you and your family on your new baby girl! Keep up the great work for God and have a wonderful holiday season!-Emily:)

      Matt,
thanks for taking the time to come see us all on the STS Tour. I know it was really hard to be away from your family for so long, but I know you’ve blessed many people for the past two months and I’m happy you get to see little Lulu and Emily tonight!
      God bless and thanks again

Had tickets for your Portland concert tonight. Showed up to find a dark church and other confused people with tickets. Seems odd that there is nothing on your website about cancelling and if anything was said on local radio stations, I missed it. Not so bad for my friend and I but I did feel sorry for the couple whose anniversary was today and had booked a hotel room and driven up from Salem for a special get away! What happened???

What an awesome thing you are doing. My wife and I attended the Sunday evening show in Merced CA and enjoyed every second! I confess that I was not familiar with you as an artist until the show. We are very young in our walk with Christ, but wow, your music spoke to me! I am a big music lover and it is so refreshing to see someone of your talent level using that talent to spread God’s love instead of for self love. Needless to say, we are big Matthew West fans now. Thank you for sharing your talent and your message the way you do. It is a perfect example of taking a spiritual gift and allowing God to work through you. Awesome! We look forward to seeing you again in Merced CA. And remember to bring the free cookies!
      God bless and thank you!

      Mr. West,
I wanted to just say thank you for your outstanding album, “Something to say.”
I’m 46 years old, and have been a Christian for 24 years. You honest work has been a blessing to me.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate how your songs speak of honest issues; that Jesus Christ really does have the answers to our problems.
May God bless you and your family.
      Respectfully,
      Rick

      Hi Matthew,
I never got the chance to contact you when Something to Say came out.
Thanks for not being afraid to talk about important and touchy issues these days.
I really enjoy the “there’s a life inside you” song. Life is definitely precious.
I also really enjoyed the “I know you’re there” on the History CD, believing that God created and that we did not come about by random chance.
I respect artists who defend their faith and are not afraid to write about them.
      Thank you.
I pray you have a restful and very happy time with family and friends this Christmas.
