• Warm Ups and Multi-tasking

    I'm in the back of the bus tonight, preparing for the show, like I prepare every night before the show.  First, I spend 2 hours on hair.  Just kidding.  Sometimes I finish in and hour and 1/2… Just kidding.  No, I'm in the back of the bus doing my vocal warm ups.  Ever since the surgery, they have been an integral part of my preparation for shows, gotta protect my surgically repaired chords…

    But it's hard to concentrate for 25 minutes while I do these warm ups, so guess what I'm doing to pass the time?  I'm writing this blog.  I believe it's called multi-tasking.  Something I have never been particularly skilled with.  I often struggle with things like walking and chewing gum, or carrying on a conversation when all I smell are fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.  But that isn't stopping me from attempting this daring feat of typing and singing at the same time.  So far so good.

    In a town called Rome, Georgia tonight on the WAY FM tour with Sanctus Real, and looking forward to hitting the stage in a few minutes.  

    Then I have a day off tomorrow, and I have some work to do.  I've been writing a song for this KLOVE Valentine's day contest.  We picked a winning story from over 3000 entries, I'm told.  I read some amazing love stories, and the winning story really tugged at my heart strings.  I can only hope that the song I write inspired by the story will tug at yours as well when they play live on the air in a few days.  

    Be sure to call KLOVE to ask them when the song will aired, so you don't miss it!

    That's all for now, my warm ups are almost done, and I better get started on my hair :)

      Hey Matthew please do those warm ups and protect that voice God is using you! My husband was convinced that we could win that contest on Klove ! He is such a romantic! But when we heard the really winner our story paled in comparison! Bummed out a little but know the song will bless the right couple! Ever since the Klove cruise the kids and I follow your blog……Steven my oldest son is still wearing the t-shirt you signed the last night for him!! Its cold in RI so feel loved! You have some friends in RI! Its just too bad we never get any one in concert up here! God bless you and your family

      I loved the song! However, I am a procrastinator, and did not download it. I tried to buy it off itunes, but it wasn’t there. Have you decided when you will be posting it?
