• My Thoughts on the Bus

    July 16, 2009 - Comments (6)

I’m on the bus right now, somewhere in Minnesota. Playing Sonshine Festival for the first time. Watching the world go by from the back lounge, and it looks like a beautiful day in the midwest… We have a day off in Chicago tomorrow, which means we’re going to get to catch a ball game. Looking forward to that. Then we play Ignite Festival in Shaumburg, IL. I always enjoy hanging with my band on the road. This weekend, we’ve got a good friend out with us filling in on keys. He has had a rough time lately. He and his wife have been expecting a little girl in August. She was born 2 months pre-mature, and is still in intensive care. Please keep this little girl in your prayers if you think of it. Her name is Emily. Their current situation really hits home for my wife and I, having just welcomed our little girl into the world a few short months ago. My thoughts and and prayers are with the Butler family right now.

Praying for your friends and their little Emily! I have a little girl named Emily who was also born premature (10 weeks early) and she spent time in the NICU as well. It was a real roller coaster of ups and downs, good days and not so good, and tons of prayer! My Emily is 11 years old today with no evidence that she had such a rough start in life, other than a couple of small scars from procedures done while she was in the hosptial. I hope that can be some encouragement to little Emily’s family – hang in there, and know that many are praying for them and their precious girl!

And hope to see you playing in California one of these days, Matthew!

praying for Emily and her famiy. Thanks for the concert @ SonShine even with the short set. And the picture turned out. Don’t tell Jeremy Camp about it as it’s part of a surprise he’ll get later from some CAMPers.

Also Minnesota is beautiful even with the road construction/closures. Be glad you weren’t @ SonShine on Friday or Saturday. It was cold for July, the high on Friday was in the 60′s.

Be thankful this baby is in the NICU, not all babies make it this far. When my one granddaughter, who was born at 35 weeks, was in the NICU right after birth, our whole family was estatic because when her older sister was born, she was already gone, she had died during birth. Yes, I’ll say a prayer for Emily, but she’s in good hands, both the NICU and God’s.

Babies are very fragile, we can certainly be thankful that she is in very capable hands, both in the NICU and God’s Hands. Will say a prayer for Emily.
