It’s after midnight. I have just arrived home from a long weekend, and my bed is calling out to me. So, forgive me if I keep tonight’s update short… But I must tell you all that has happened in the last few days. Holy Cow! A Christmas special taping in Atlanta for Gospel Music Channel. My own special! crazy. That was a lot of work, but really fun. I’ll keep you posted on when that will air for sure. Then, flew to Denver for a show at Heaven Fest, which was great fun. Only got to see the mountains from inside a shuttle van, which was a bummer. Our stay in Colorado also neglected to include a trip to Peet’s Coffee, which happens to be my favorite. Maybe next time… Then, we flew right out again to Cleveland, and made it to bed about 2am. Woke up, headed to The Fest in Ohio. Wrote a song on stage about how The Fest is so cool, they don’t even need a name for it, its just The fest… They were enlightened I’m sure… Got off stage, met some nice people, then back to the airport for a flight home. So, there you have it. 3 days in the life… Tomorrow, I will not be picking up my guitar. Tomorrow I will not be blogging. Tomorrow I will not do a show, or even talk about music… Tomorrow, I am dad. Tomorrow, I am breakfast maker, french press drinker, diaper changer, 3 year old tickler, and dog walker. sounds good. Good night, my friends.

PS, have I told you thank you for supporting me? You guys are the best. I’m blessed to do what I do, and to have so many welcome my songs into your lives. thank you thank you thank you.

The life of a musician, hard work and little sleep all because people need Jesus:)

You could always pick up the guitar and write a song w/ Lulu as part of a fun Daddy/Daughter thing and maybe add any of Delaney’s babbling into the mix. It could be the next hidden track even:)

As for the PS section: You’re Welcome!!!!

      Good Morning,

We were at the Fest in Cleveland yesterday and I just wanted to say how inspirational you were. I told my husband that I hoped someone would say the words I needed to hear and you were the one to do it. You speaking of going through the motions sounded so much like me. Thank you for motivating me to be a better person and a better christian. You were my favorite performance of the day

What can I say? WOW – I went to The Fest & what an inspiration you were. You were my favorite artist & the one who moved me. Your latest hit “The Motions” is so powerful and really hits home right now. I purchased your CD & just can’t get enough of it. Thank you for sharing your music, your inspirational messages, & performing live…I look forward to seeing you in concert again.

      Hi Matthew,
I have seen you several times in concert and “MORE” is my favorite. I like all of your music, but in September 2004 a friend and I were driving to the ocean and your song came on the radio. It spoke to me in ways no other song has ever done. Thank You for all you do. Enjoy being a Dad, they grow soooooo fast.

Hi Matthew. Just watched the re-airing of “Nothing to Say” with my daughter Grace. It’s her new favorite and she really likes your “doggy”. Then she says “Matthew West called me a sweetheart” as she remembered the show at Merced. SHe still tells everyone how she gave you the M and M’s for Lulu. Anyways, as I was watching, I noticed you held up a sign that said “I hate letting people down”, and I paused for a moment, then figured I would take one last stab at writing you and seeing if you would make good on that call you said you would make. Your songs, story and life example really changed my class of 4th graders last year. In fact, the last day of school I was trying to make an announcement and said “I have something to say” They all busted out singing your song. Well, I will leave things at this, you had said you would call the class, and if you still want to, please send me an email. Trusting God on this one. :) SOme friends saw you at SWC Monterey for the first time and another group at Fishfest. Both loved your show. You need to do SWC Del Mar next year.
