Here We Go
October 14, 2009 - Comments (32)The bus is leaving tonight for Oklahoma. The Motions Tour starts tomorrow night, and I’m really excited about these upcoming shows. The band and I had production rehearsals the last 2 days, and everything is sounding great. I’ve got an awesome band. They are so talented. We are trying a bunch of different stuff this fall as well. I hope you can make it to a show. It’s only a limited number of shows this fall, but if all goes well, maybe we’ll extend the tour into the spring. It’s been so amazing with the response people have shown to The Motions, and this tour was a natural progression… to take the music to the people. So, if we are coming near you, please come and hang with us. If we’re not coming to a city near you… please keep us in your prayers! We need it…

Woo hoo! Can’t wait to see you in Raytown, MO on Sunday night! In my small group Bible Study, I introduced everyone to your song “The Motions” when it first came out, and people were blown away at the honesty. I’ve never seen you perform live before, so this will be a real treat! Great to hear that you and your band are ready to roll!
Wed 14/10/09, 4:00 pm
That is really cool!! We will keep you and the band in our prayers so you can get safe everywhere you go and so you can take your wonderful music and touch people’s lives like you do with us every single day…. Have fun and God bless you!!! =]

I can’t wait to see you in St. Peters, MO Friday night!!! Last time I saw you was on New Year’s Eve at Knott’s Berry Farm in California. I believe that was 2006. I’ve been waiting a long time for you to come to the St. Louis area. I will keep you in my prayers.

We can’t wait to see you Friday night in St. Peters. We saw you on the lawn of the Capitol and my girls absolutely loved it. My 5 year old loves to sing I Love Your More. One of her friends ask who the song was about and she said Well Of Course, Jesus. We will be praying for safe traveling mercies. Friday can’t get here soon enough. Nothing like worshiping our Savior with fellow believers.
Wed 14/10/09, 10:21 pm
Will be praying for the tour. remember to keep the quiet time consistent on the road.

Hello, Matthew,
I first started really listening to you with your song “I love you more.” My daughter and I used to have a little game we played that started with “I love you!”-”I love you more!”-”I love you most!”-” I love you infinitely!”-and ending with “I love you, God’s way!” My daughter has a wonderful new family and is starting college. I am a recovering addict, and i lost her 8 years ago. Anyway, i am writing because i have some songs God put in my head. Since i neither read not write music, these will only get shared if someone helps. The Christmas one, “Lullaby” is particularly precious! I can send a recording, if you have the time to create harmonies, and maybe instrument accompaniment to these songs.
Thank you for doing God’s work so beautifully. May God’s peace be with us all!

I live here in McAlester, and I just want to say that I find it COMPLETLY AMAZING, that you would look beyond yourself, beyond the fame, beyond it all. You are truly an inspirational group. I think that it says a lot for you and your management that you would allow this family to partake in this event. I truly believe the importance of this is showing the LOVE from on to another. For this could be the very thing that the Lord is allowing in order for that family to HEAL. In times of tragedy, people tend to blame God, and that can be dangerous. He has such a wonderful plan for us all. I hope to be able to make it tonight. May your journeys be safe, and thank you for being such a blessing to ALL.
GOD BLESS-
Your Sister In Christ

Our family just got home from the McAlester concert, I just got my two little ones down in bed! They are so excited to have gone hear you sing! My 6 year old wants nothing more than to be a “singer for God”, he will jam out to music all day long playing his air gutair and drums! My 3 year loves to dance for Jesus! This was her first concert and I kept taking her down to the front so her dancing wouldn’t hurt anyone, lol! What a blessing it was for us to have you come to our town! You, Lance, your band and your family are in our prays as you travel. I pray many lives are touched over the months ahead. God bless

I was at the concert last night and what an amazing time it was. God showed up! Matthew and Josh your music makes people think; touches lives and helps us open our hearts to hear the Lord. What a blessing you are in so many lives. As a single parent with four boys it really helps to have Godly men to that they can kind of relate to and look up to. As young people they have such a wide choice of music to choose from and you guys make it such an easy one for them – keep up the great work. Matthew – my 6 year old is such a huge fan of yours. All he wanted from the concert last night was the music and he KNOWS all three CD’s are HIS AND HIS ALONE. They play christian cd’s at bed time and I have your Something to Say at the office so I can start my day out right. So now we have a copy for the house as well. We will keep you and the band in our prayers. Much love.

I went to the concert last night… It was AMAZING! I was right in front screaming my head off, my voice is COMPLETELY gone! It was TOTALLY worth it. You are an AMAZING singer and EVERYTIME I hear one of your songs it just makes me feel SO… well I can’t describe it, but it’s GREAT… I first started listening to you because I had heard “The Motions” at Ryan’s funeral it just made me melt. I loved Ryan SO MUCH he was a GREAT guy and he lived for the lord. I admired him for that, he is DEFINANTLY one of my heros!
Fri 16/10/09, 8:44 am
I was at your concert in McAlester last night, and all I can say is WOW! What a blessing! Other than hearing Ryan’s story, there were two moments that really touched my heart. The first was when you said ” If you’re not ashamed, point to the sky” and thousands of arms went up, pointing to the sky. The second was hearing about six thousand voices singing amazing grace acappella–it was so beautiful. I was thinking about Ryan’s story last night after I got home. Even as “Motions” was being written, God knew it would change Ryan’s life, your life, and countless others. All things really do work together for good for those who love the Lord! Your music and your words touched me last night, and I hope you meant it when you said you would come back.
God bless you!

How exciting this is! Good luck to you and your band, God bless you and keep you safe.

Had a great time last night. I want to thank Matthew West and his brother Joel for honoring Ryan with this nation wide tour. As Ryans father I can honestly say Ryan loved the Lord, I know Ryan would want everyone to realize that life could end at any moment. When Matthew West comes to your town please listen to the words in each song. I’ve heard so many people say after the Mcalester concert they wanted live a life that pleased the Lord. The song ”MOTIONS” touched our son Ryan in a way that he wanted a closer walk with the Lord. Again please listen to the songs and to Lance, Ryan’s older brother, as he tells Ryans story. Again, I want to thank Matthew West for coming to Mcalester ok.

I just again want to say thank you to you and your crew for coming to McAlester. What a blessing you are! I also want to say thank you to Joel for allowing my students to participate by letting BUFF TV be the video crew! My students have been talking nonstop about what a great time they had and that they cannot wait for you to come back. I am so proud of them! Thank you for providing them this opportunity in such a positive way! God is using you all in such an awesome way! Be safe and be ready to be blown away the next time you perform here!!! By the way, The BUFFS are 7-0 in football as of last night and the Lady Buffs softball team plays for the state title today at 3:30!!! So like you, “I prefer McAlester” too!!!!

Wow! Is all I can say about your concert last night in St. Louis, Missouri. If you hadn’t mentioned that your were feeling under the weather, no one would have known. I loved your natural ad-lib (even if you did poke fun at the Cards). I hope you get some rest and feel better for the remainder of your tour. Our prayers will be with you and your band.
Sat 17/10/09, 9:08 pm
Thank you so much for an awesome night in St. Louis. My girls loved meeting you. They have told everyone about the concert. You sounded great despite the sore throat and I just love how everyone of your songs is based on life stories. Can’t wait till we can see you again. Best of luck on the rest of your tour. May God strengthen you and keep you and your band and crew safe as you travel and proclaim the love of Jesus. May many meet the Savior as you share the love of Jesus.
