A Different Kind of Christmas
November 30, 2009 - Leave a CommentMy family and I have been challenged by our church to look at Christmas in a different kind of light. As most Christmas’s go people tend to focus on the gifts that they will be getting and many of the materialistic things that come with this season. I have been thinking about what Christmas really should be about. I mean yes I love getting gifts and things but the true Christmas gift isn’t something that we can physically grab onto. Jesus came to earth in the form a baby boy in order to save us from the evil that we live in. God allowed this to happen because he loved us so much. This is something that we can hold onto in our hearts and minds and we hopefully won’t toss it away ever.
This Christmas I have been challenged to teach my niece and nephew the true meaning of giving. The giving of one’s time and knowledge instead of money gifts. I am giving the idea of what I have been given by Christ and sharing this to hopefully spread with those around me.
