    Grammy? Seriously?

My head is spinning right now, and has been all day. I’m in NYC, having dinner with my manager, and my wife calls to inform me that I’ve been nominated for a Grammy!!! Unbelievable. “The Motions” is nominated for Best Gospel Song, and I’m so thrilled. This is my first nomination, and it’s still a bit surreal.

Just wanted to take this chance to once again say thank you to all of you for supporting me, and “The Motions.” You seem to make my dreams come true just about daily… I’m blessed to be able to make this music, and so grateful that you dig it!

Matthew, you have a God-given gift which the Lord has chosen to use to reach people!!! I’m not surprised!!! However, I can only imagine the thrill it must be to be nominated for a Grammy :) I just want you to know, the first song I ever heard you sing was “more” and every time I heard it i would cry. That song alone would bring me to a closer place with my Savior, just knowing how much he loves me, thank you for painting such a beautiful picture for me :) -Lori Beth

Congratulations! God has definitely used you in my life with The Motions. I’m sure with many other lives as well. I just heard “Give This Christmas Away” powerful message there as well – give the love away. :-) hugs to you and your fam.

You, my friend, have been entrusted by the Most High with a phenomenal talent. It is Gods gift to you. Thank you for dedicating your life to your talent/gift. Thank you for sharing it with us. I am happy, but not surprised, that the secular world has taken notice.
Matthew, may the glory of God continue to be revealed in your music.

My family and friends from our church attended your concert last night. I very much enjoyed it. My favorite was “Come O Come Immanuel!” Thanks for a song with such depth that transpires the ages because of the message!

I mostly enjoyed talking with your Dad after the concert and watching you reconnect with college friends. Just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you and your family through this Christmas tour. I’m praying for health and a balance for you through the grueling pace, a wisdom about how to balance this ministry God has entrusted to you with other priorities He wants you to keep, and above all else that you will stay grounded in HIM!!!! KEEP THE FOCUS! Hebrews 12:1-3

“Grammy? Seriously?”…Yes!!!! Congrats…I’m so glad you and Jeremy Camp were not in the same category…it would be too hard to decide who I wanted to win since you guys both have awesome God inspired music.

Oh and before I forget…You’re Welcome.

Matthew, what an awesome, beautiful concert last night. I think God woke me up at this unusual hour reminding me that I forgot to say “thank you” for the book! Your mother is proud, I’m sure! Your message is strong and so Christ centered. Though we might have been a little star-struck in the front row tonight, you keep us focused on Christ. I’m keeping you in prayer throughout this tour and after. What an incrediblely self-less thing that you would do this tour at Christmas-time AND bring it to Madison, WI no less! Thank you so much!! We all loved the whole concert but especially your song about the Day After Christmas! Powerful thoughts and message, my friend! Keep listening to the Holy Spirit for more inspired songs! We love you here in Wisconsin. Congrats on the Grammy nomination. You earned it!
