I just got to hear the new song, Two Houses. It is reminiscent of my own daughter’s struggle with my divorce 17 years ago.She was 10. It was so hard for her, still the memories haunt us both. God bless you, Matthew, and the precious young lady who wrote to you about her faith and our Savior’s grace that apparently is helping her to cope.
I will pray for marriages, as a result of hearing this song. I don’t want to cry for the victims, the children whose lives are forever changed, anymore. I pray that when people take their vows before God they really understand and mean what they are saying. This is truly an area that needs diligent prayer, too many families are fractured and too many hearts are broken. Divorce is becoming too “normal”. God bless the children.

Hi Matthew. Heard the Two Houses song on Your Family Live. I remember it from Simpsonville, SC. Great song. Breaks my heart for children of divorced families; where the root of the problem for divorce is selfishness and the children pay the price. I find myself praying for these children and that they will seek Christ, and let Him be the perfect father. God’s grace is sufficient for us always!

Hey Matt,
I don’t know if you got my email I sent you on FB last spring but I wrote you wondering if there was any possibility of you engaging in the ministry I started back home in central IL. I started a free adoption and orphan conference a few years ago. For some reason your name came to mind in our post-conference mtg. when we talked about our next conference in Feb. 2011. So I wrote you to see if you’d have any desire to write a song about orphans/fatherless and then maybe come share it at our conference. Anyway, kind of let go of that over the summer assuming you are too big for these kinds of things anymore. But I couldn’t believe it when I saw you wrote a song about orphans called One Less. I’m sure you probably never even saw the email I sent you but thought how crazy that was that God put you on my heart for a song about orphans over 6 mos. ago. If for some other crazy reason(GOD), you would have any desire to minister to orphans by helping educate believers on adoption and ministry… PLEASE let me know. Plus it really would be fun to reconnect… I think a few of my youth group kids have met you over the years and think it’s great that I know you.. even if it was forever ago, ha ha. Oh and one more plug about coming to the conference… you and your wife could “investigate” the possibility of adoption… pretty much sure you’ll leave ready to sign up : )
Praying the Lord continues to use you for His glory! Wow, Matt, what a privilege you have to hold a stage for Jesus. God is so good.
Hoping to hear from you,
Marianne (Stanton) Gross

Hello Matthew,
Your voice is beautiful. I’m sitting in Gainesville, Texas, with tears in my eyes after listening to ONE LAST CHRISTMAS. This song is truly inspiring. In a sad way, it made me reflect more on how much better of a parent I need to be, while we still have 9 at home.
What I took away from your song was the knowing life is so precious and all we really have is this minute, this day….so be the best mom I can be even when I’m tired or sick, others need us more than what we give now.
It made me think of the FIRST CHRISTMAS our 9 Vietnamese and 1 Cambodian children experienced. They were older kids, most with baggage. We begin to teach them about Christianity by showing them videos of Jesus’ life and his crucifiction. One of my new little girls said ‘MOMMY, I WANT TO HAVE CHILDREN SOME DAY SO THEY CAN KNOW JESUS’.
Matt, thank you for starting my day and new year off more enlightened.

Marianne, you are doing God’s work. There are lots of people wanting to adopt and don’t know how. If you can email me your email, I would like to know about your work.
We’ve steered many people towards adoption, they approach us after meeting our children.
Do you help adopt nationally and/or internationally?
We’ve adopted our limit, my dh would like to adopt more, but there is not enough quality time, 1:1 time which each child needs. AND we’re 65 and 67 and getting old beats the alternative. our youngest is 10.
This is a good blog, glad I found it. God is blessing us all by hearing Matt’s songs,

Hello Matthew,
I just have to say that the song “When I Say I Do” is amazing. You are a very talented man doing God’s work. Both me and my fiance attended a wedding earlier this morning and they played that song and I saw tears in her eyes when that song was played. The song has so much meaning to both my fiance and I especially as we are approaching our big day. Anyways, I was wondering if by any chance you would be able to come and perform that song at our wedding on May 20 2012. I would appreciate it so much if you have the time to come and perform a few songs for us. Thanks so much.

I’m new to ur music! I had the priviledge of seeing you at Disney Sept. 9th. I have to say that two songs spoke to me as if I’d written you while you were writing your album. They were “One Less” and “Family Tree”. We were LED to adoption via our faith after having our boys. We adopted two girls. 1st via a woman who was pregnant and facing incarceration. The 2nd was a baby placed in a box and left in a trash can in the middle of the night, bleeding and dying. The trash can was in front of a church
God saw what happened and saved her! They are both MY girls now, and thriving in a Christian home. Many people think we saved them…but they saved us. As a result of our fight to keep the baby that was thrown away (the State wanted to give her back to the parents who abandoned her) we found our way back into church. I was formally Baptized 6 months ago. Far different that the home I grew up in – alcoholic father. We are changing our children’s futures, and their children’s futures! God is Amazing the way he weaves our lives!!!! I’m a huge fan of yours now and hope some day you come to NorthEast Florida to play!!! Westside Baptist Church – Jax Florida.

Hey Matthew!
Thank you so much for your songs. They are so touching, and I can apply a lot of them to my own life.
There have been many things going on in my life, and I am a young teen. Life, I found out the hard way, is so hard sometimes that you don’t know to whom or what to turn to.
But when I listened to your songs, I felt like God was present and blessing me.
I want to let you know that I want to be a future singer, and I want to be able to write my own songs. Therefore I am analyzing many artists’ songs. And you are probably my most favorite (and most influential) of all time.
God bless you in all you do, and thank you again.
I hope to hear from you soon.
